I have fallen in love, again! I know pyrex has been around for many, many years but for some reason it has just now caught my eye.

I'm trying to decide on a favorite pattern but there are just too many to pick from.
Pink Gooseberry
Amish Buttercup

Harvest Wheat
Spring Blossom

I'm not so fond of the spring blossom series. I don't like the color at all
I haven't picked up any vintage of my own yet but I sure am looking forward to the hunt!!

It has been awhile.....

You can always tell when I am struggling with darkness. I'm never around.

I'm still in a fight with depression but have decided the saying "fake it til you make it" just might become my mantra. So, with that being said I am making my blog a priority. And I'm hoping that you will help keep me accountable.

Would you mind leaving me a note to encourage me?

Thanks!

The Purpose of Testing

I'm always searching for the answer to "does God tempt us"? A dear friend of mine gave this article to me a few years back. I surf back to it from time to time. It gives me strength, hope that our God doesn't touch evil. He makes all things good, again.

God does not set temptations before anyone, for "God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man" (James 1:13). However, God does permit trials, temptations, and periods of testing to come, even to His children. Can there be any value in this? Do these experiences serve any good purpose? They must, because we are told to "count it all joy" when they come to us (James 1:2). AND WE ARE ASSURED THAT "ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE" (ROMANS 8:28). At first it may seem that no joy could come from our trials, but a little reflection will s how that blessings may indeed be the results.

In the first place, trials afford us a means of proving ourselves. One may say that he has faith, but he will never know how strong that is until it is put to the test. It is little wonder, then, that James refers to life's trails, or temptation, as a "proving of your faith". It is not so much the things that come to a person in life as what he does about them., how he meets them, that is of the utmost importance.

Simple Women's Daybook

Outside my window baby, oh baby, it is cold! 7 degrees!

I am thinking Do I want to get out of the house today and fight the bitter cold or stay inside my warm, cozy home?

I am thankful for my family. ALWAYS

In the kitchen not much going on. I need to go to the grocery store later today.

I am wearing a KY Wildcat t-shirt and sweats.

I am creating a blessings jar.

I am wondering if the weather forecasters are going to be accurate in their prediction for a BIG snowstorm this weekend. hhmm...

I am reading Hoda Kotb's new book, Ten Years Later. Awesome!!

I am looking forward to a new bible study offered at church on Wednesday night. My entire family is taking the study. It is a study on the week of Christ's crucifixion.

I am hearing the chicken's banter back and forth. I'm certain they are complaining about the weather.

I am pondering how long will it take me to get my treasure room pulled together?

One of my favorite things is to watch the first 15 minutes of Kathie Lee and Hoda on the today show. I just love Hoda!

A few plans for the rest of the week include bible study tomorrow night, doctor's appointment, visiting mom
